Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary honors the love of the Mother of God, that pure heart wholly given to her Son. In this prayer we entrust ourselves and all we love to her care.
The Prayer
O Immaculate Heart of Mary,
refuge and shelter of sinners,
we consecrate ourselves to your Immaculate Heart.
We give you our bodies and our souls,
our homes and our families,
all that we are and all that we have.
Keep us under your protection;
guard our faith,
guide us in the way of your Son,
and obtain for us the grace of final perseverance.
Most pure Heart of Mary,
pray for us now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
When to Pray This Prayer
On the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart, on First Saturdays, in May, and whenever you wish to entrust your family to Our Lady.
About This Prayer
After the apparitions at Fatima, the Church deepened this devotion, and Our Lady asked for the consecration of hearts and homes to her Immaculate Heart as a path of peace.
