The Litany of the Blessed Sacrament is a litany of adoration before Jesus truly present in the Holy Eucharist, the living Bread that came down from heaven.
The Litany
Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
The response to each invocation is: have mercy on us.
Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ,
Living Bread, that came down from heaven,
Hidden God and Savior,
Bread of life for a world that is dying,
Memorial of the Passion of Christ,
Pledge of future glory,
Sacrament of love,
Bond of charity,
Sacrifice most holy,
Cleansing flood,
Strength of the weak,
Comfort of those who mourn,
Viaticum of those who die in the Lord,
Sweetness of holy souls,
Pledge of the resurrection,
Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world, spare us, O Lord. Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world, graciously hear us, O Lord. Lamb of God, who take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
You gave them bread from heaven,
containing in itself all sweetness.
When to Pray This Prayer
In Eucharistic adoration, on the feast of Corpus Christi, and after receiving Holy Communion.
