The Chaplet of Divine Mercy, given through St Faustina Kowalska, is prayed on ordinary rosary beads and begs God's mercy for ourselves and for the whole world.
How to Pray the Chaplet
Begin with one Our Father, one Hail Mary, and the Apostles’ Creed.
On the large beads (once each)
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son,
Our Lord Jesus Christ,
in atonement for our sins
and those of the whole world.
On the ten small beads (each decade)
For the sake of his sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Pray the large-bead prayer and then ten small-bead prayers for all five decades.
To conclude (three times)
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us and on the whole world.
Close with: Jesus, I trust in you.
When to Pray This Prayer
Daily, at three o'clock (the Hour of Mercy), for the dying, and during the Divine Mercy Novena before Divine Mercy Sunday.
About This Prayer
The chaplet was given to St Faustina Kowalska in the 1930s and is now prayed by Catholics around the world. It pleads the merits of the Passion of Christ for mercy on the whole world.
