Saint Faustina Kowalska is the humble Polish sister chosen by Jesus as the “Apostle of Divine Mercy.” Through her the Lord gave the Church the Image, the Chaplet, and the Feast of Divine Mercy. This prayer asks grace through her intercession, in the spirit of trust she taught the world: “Jesus, I trust in You.”
Prayer for the Intercession of Saint Faustina
O Jesus, who filled your handmaid Saint Faustina with profound veneration for your boundless mercy, deign, if it be your holy will, to grant me, through her intercession, the grace for which I fervently pray (mention your request).
My sins render me unworthy of your mercy, but be mindful of Saint Faustina’s spirit of sacrifice and self-denial, and reward her virtue by granting the petition which, with childlike confidence, I present to you through her intercession. Saint Faustina, Apostle of Divine Mercy, pray for us. Jesus, I trust in you. Amen.
About Saint Faustina
Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska (1905–1938) was a sister of the Congregation of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy in Poland. In numerous revelations recorded in her Diary, Jesus asked her to make his mercy known to the world. The devotions she received — the Divine Mercy Image, the Chaplet, and Divine Mercy Sunday — were examined and approved by the Church. She was canonized by Pope John Paul II in the Jubilee Year 2000, the first saint of the new millennium.
