Act of Faith

The Act of Faith is one of the three theological acts, by which we profess our belief in God and in the truths he has revealed through the Church.

The Prayer

O my God, I firmly believe
that you are one God in three divine Persons,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe that your divine Son became man
and died for our sins,
and that he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe these and all the truths
which the holy Catholic Church teaches,
because you have revealed them,
who can neither deceive nor be deceived.
Amen.

When to Pray This Prayer

Often prayed together with the Acts of Hope and Love, especially in the morning or evening, and in time of temptation against faith.

About This Prayer

The three theological virtues, faith, hope, and charity, are exercised in these short acts long recommended by the Church.
