Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to St Juan Diego in 1531 and is honored as the Mother and Patroness of the Americas. In this prayer we place ourselves and our families under her mantle.

The Prayer

O Virgin of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas,
we entrust our families to you.
Mother most holy, you left us the image of your love
upon the tilma of St Juan Diego;
watch over our homes and our children.
Protect the lives of the unborn,
comfort the suffering,
and lead the wandering home.
Help us to hear your gentle words:
Am I not here, who am your Mother?
Pray for us, that we may carry your Son to a world in need,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

When to Pray This Prayer

On her feast (December 12), for the protection of family and the unborn, and for the peoples of the Americas.
