The Guardian Angel Prayer asks the angel God has given us to light, guard, rule, and guide us. It is among the first prayers Catholic children learn.
The Prayer
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
to whom God's love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.
When to Pray This Prayer
In the morning and at night, and at any moment we need protection or guidance.
About This Prayer
The Church teaches that each person is accompanied by a guardian angel, a messenger of God's loving care (see Catechism 336).
