The mysteries of the Rosary are twenty events from the life of Jesus and Mary on which we meditate as we pray. They are grouped into four sets.

The Glorious Mysteries (Wednesday, Sunday)
1. The Resurrection
2. The Ascension
3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit
4. The Assumption of Mary
5. The Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven
The Luminous Mysteries (Thursday)
1. The Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan
2. The Wedding at Cana
3. The Proclamation of the Kingdom
4. The Transfiguration
5. The Institution of the Eucharist

About This Prayer
The Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries are ancient; the Luminous Mysteries, the Mysteries of Light, were given by St John Paul II in 2002.
