Illustrious virgin and martyr, Saint Philomena, behold me kneeling before the throne where it has pleased the Most Holy Trinity to place you. Full of confidence in your protection, I entreat you to intercede for me with God. From the heights of heaven deign to cast a glance upon your humble client.
Spouse of Christ, sustain me in suffering, strengthen me in temptation, protect me in the dangers that surround me, and obtain for me the graces I need, and in particular (mention your request). Above all, assist me at the hour of my death. Saint Philomena, powerful with God, pray for us. Amen.
About Saint Philomena
The relics of Saint Philomena, a young martyr, were discovered in the catacomb of Priscilla in Rome in 1802. Devotion to her spread rapidly, marked by numerous reported miracles, and she was warmly promoted by Saint John Vianney, the Curé of Ars, and by Pope Gregory XVI, who approved her public veneration. She is honoured as patroness of the young and of those in desperate need.
