St Rita of Cascia is honored as the patroness of impossible and desperate causes. Wife, mother, widow, and nun, she knew sorrow and abandonment, and intercedes for all who feel their cause is lost.
The Prayer
O holy patroness of those in need,
St Rita,
whose pleadings before your divine Lord
are almost irresistible,
who for your lavishness in granting favors
are called the Advocate of the Hopeless
and even of the Impossible:
be propitious to me in my present need.
To you I have recourse from the depth of my heart,
and beg that your power will come to my assistance.
Be mindful, O glorious St Rita,
that no one ever had recourse to your help in vain.
Obtain for me from the Heart of Jesus
the grace I now implore.
(Mention your request.)
Amen.
